We didn’t miss much while I was on vacation Thursday and Friday of last week. In fact, we didn’t miss anything. This morning, upon trolling for CIO announcements that I might have missed late last week, I only came up with the following announcements, which were released or sent to me this morning: Steve Cox officially joined Coremetrics as the web analytics provider’s vice president of operations today. He reports to Mark Resnick, COO and CFO of the San Mateo, Calif.-based company. Cox comes to Coremetrics from Dresser, a global provider of energy infrastructure equipment, where he held the roles of corporate director of global business systems and director of global IT for Dresser’s Wayne business unit. In those positions, Cox was responsible for implementing and managing all corporate systems including Oracle’s e-business suite enterprise applications, corporate treasury systems, web services and data management solutions. Prior to Dresser, Cox was vice president of information systems and technology and CIO for video conferencing provider VTEL. Internap Network Services elected the beautifully coiffed Patricia L. Higgins (pictured at left; I wish I could get my hair to look like that), a one-time Alcoa CIO, vice chair of its board of directors. Higgins is a former president and CEO of Switch and Data and a former chairman and CEO of The Research Board. She also serves on Delta Airlines’ and Visteon’s boards of directors. MTC Holdings, a cargo handler (aka stevedore) and terminal operator based in Oakland, Calif., hired Larry Grotte as its first CIO. One of his primary responsibilities will be to work with MTC’s business units to identify and develop efficient business processes. I don’t have much detail on exactly what Grotte did before joining MTC. All I know is that he worked as a C-level executive and management consultant for Fortune 500 and technology companies in Silicon Valley.
