McAfee, a provider of intrusion prevention and risk management solutions, on Tuesday announced that it has bought Preventsys, a risk management and compliance solutions vendor, according to a June 6 press release on Yahoo Finance.

Preventsys offers a Security Risk Management System for large firms that combines information on vulnerabilities, configuration and threat data from multivendor tools in a dashboard and automates security reporting functions, according to the release.

“McAfee’s acquisition of Preventsys fulfills a key component of our risk management and compliance strategy, which is based on helping our customers leverage their existing security technologies,” said Ken Gonzalez, McAfee’s vice president of corporate development, in the release.

Financial details of the deal were not disclosed.
