Microsoft Scoops Up Chrysler Marketing Exec for Xbox Biz

Redmond, Wash.-based software behemoth Microsoft this week said it hired Jeff Bell, a marketing executive with DaimlerChrysler, as head of global marketing for its Xbox gaming business, The Wall Street Journal reports.

At Chrysler, Bell held the post of vice president, product strategy with Chrysler Group, and was one of the minds behind the company’s “Grab Life by the Horns” and Hemi campaigns, according to the Journal.

Bell was also a strong proponent of employing online video games within marketing initiatives, and he helped develop more than 40 such games for promotion of vehicles including the 2005 Jeep Liberty Renegade, among others, the Journal reports.
