ARM Holdings, a designer of microchips, displayed its new processor at the Spring Processor Forum in California, meant for mobile devices, hard-disk drives and printers, among other applications, AFX News Limited reports via Forbes.ARM’s Cortex-R4 processor will provide increased performance capabilities and boost efficiency and configuration potential to help meet the increasingly sophisticated needs of upcoming embedded products, John Cornish, ARM’s vice president of marketing for its processor division, told AFX.Cornish also said the Cortex-R4 will open new doors in the development of third-generation phones, hard-disk drives and automotive systems, according to AFX.Check out our CIO News Alerts and Tech Informer pages for more updated news coverage.
