SanDisk Appoints New President

Flash-memory producer SanDisk has appointed its current chief operating officer (COO), Sanjay Mehrotra, to be its next president, effective June 1, CNET News.com reports.

Mehrotra, also a company vice president, succeeds Eli Harari, who will become the company’s new chairman of its board of directors, according to CNET. Harari, a company cofounder, will keep his current title of chief executive officer, CNET reports. 

SanDisk was formed in 1988, and Mehrotra is also cofounder, according to CNET. In addition to keeping his COO role, Mehrotra will also maintain the role of executive vice president of FlashVision, a Toshiba-SanDisk partnership that produces flash memory components, CNET reports.
