Netflix, an online DVD rental-by-mail service, and NBC Universal have inked a pact that will enable Netflix subscribers to watch the first episodes of the network’s two new television series a month and a half before they air, Dow Jones reports via The Wall Street Journal.

Los Gatos, Calif.-based Netflix will offer its customers the premiere episodes of “Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip” and “Kidnapped” from Aug. 5 on, and NBC will advertise the promotion on the Netflix website and on the DVD return envelopes that its customers use to send off movies once they’ve watched them, according to Dow Jones.
