Toshiba plans to build a new semiconductor factory near Bangkok, Thailand, the company said Tuesday.It plans to invest about 2 billion yen (US$17.2 million) in the factory, which will produce chips for consumer electronics equipment and mobile phones, the Tokyo company said.Construction of the plant at the Bangkadi Industrial Park north of Bangkok is scheduled to begin in July and be completed by March 2007.
