Samsung SDI is investing about 80 billion won (US$85 million) to construct a plasma display panel factory in Hungary, it said Tuesday.The company, which is a specialized display manufacturer affiliated with Samsung Electronics, has already begun construction of the factory on a site in Budapest. It is scheduled to be completed by April 2007 and will produce 42-inch panels, a spokesman for Samsung SDI in Seoul said.Separately, Toshiba said it is in talks with the Polish government on the construction of a liquid crystal display (LCD) assembly plant in that country.
