Palm this week will release its Treo 700wx smart phone with Sprint, and it is part of the firm’s W series, which was previously available exclusively via VerizonWireless.com, the San Jose Mercury News reports.

The 700wx Treo runs on Microsoft’s Windows Mobile 5.0 operating system, and it contains twice as much storage space as its predecessor, as well as improved muting and speakerphone functionality to simplify the process of switching back and forth between modes, according to MercuryNews.com.

The phone will retail for $499, and it also features a USB port to enable users to connect to a laptop, MercuryNews.com reports.
