Apple has released a series of firmware updates for Intel Macs.

Separate versions of the update—the EFI Firmware Update—are available for the iMac, MacBook Pro, MacBook, Mac mini and the Mac Pro.

Apple describes the software as one to “fix several Boot Camp, startup and wake-from-sleep issues,” on the relevant Intel Mac.

The company has also released Firmware Restoration CD 1.2 software, which can restore the firmware of an Intel-based Mac. Users must download the software and create a CD using it. That CD can then be used to restore the firmware in any Mac should a previous update be interrupted or failed.
