LogicTools released an extended version of its network design software, LogicNet Plus XE. The extended edition performs both network design and network planning; it also takes into account seasonality, complex production constraints and inventory buildup, says the company. The new version also includes enhanced geo-coding and mapping capabilities and 64-bit operating system support.

The application combines advanced optimization technology with an easy-to-use graphical user interface to manage the world’s most complex supply chains, according to the company. It enables analysis of the tradeoffs between production, warehousing, transportation costs, and service requirements as well as calculation of the optimal network configuration for different cost and service objectives. Solutions from the model can be viewed, compared and easily exported to tables and graphs for presentations and further analysis.
