The latest handheld software updates for Research In Motion's (RIM) BlackBerry Bold 9000 from AT&T and its Tour 9630 on Verizon, which reportedly feature a variety of bug fixes and enhancements, may be just around the corner. If you’re a BlackBerry Bold 9000 user on AT&T or a Verizon BlackBerry Tour 9630 owner, your device will likely be getting a new “official” OS update from Research In Motion (RIM) in the coming weeks. This release, which provides several enhancements, will become publically available on August 25, 2009 including via OTA. Potential fixes or enhancements in Tour OS v.4.7.1.42 are also unknown at this point. The latest official BlackBerry handheld OS for the Bold via AT&T is v4.6.0.438, while the most recent BlackBerry Tour OS from Verizon is 4.7.1.40. If everything goes as expected, AT&T should release the new Bold OS next Tuesday, but corporate customers may get the update first. The Verizon Tour update is simply a rumor at this point, but it comes from a site with a proven track record for breaking BlackBerry-related news.
