Research In Motion's (RIM) latest smartphone accessory, the BlackBerry Visor Mount Speakerphone VM-605, lets users listen to phone calls and digital music files via car stereo systems, and it will be available today on the BlackBerry-maker's website for $99.99. Back in January, I showed you the Internet’s first pictures of Research In Motion’s BlackBerry Visor Mount Speakerphone (VM-605), from CES 2009, and today the product will finally be listed for sale on ShopBlackBerry.com for $99.99 plus shipping. RIM’s BlackBerry Visor Mount Speakerphone VM-605 with BlackBerry Curve 8900 The BlackBerry Visor Mount Speakerphone VM-605 employs Bluetooth and RF wireless technologies to take music files from your BlackBerry smartphone and play them through your vehicle’s stereo system. Visor mount owners can also receive phone calls via the product’s built-in speaker or your car’s speaker system. RIM was nice enough to send me a review unit VM-605, but I received it late last week and haven’t been able to spend sufficient time with it to pen an accurate evaluation. I’ll post a full review later this week–hint: I’m a fan, so far–but I wanted to let you know the product’s available and share some general information. From RIM: “The BlackBerry Visor Mount Speakerphone VM-605 lets you enjoy your calls and your favorite music from your BlackBerry smartphone with the convenience and sound quality of your car’s FM stereo system. It’s easy to use. Just clip it to your car’s visor, turn it on, and you’re ready to start making and taking hands-free calls on the go. And because it supports voice activated dialing, caller ID, and verbal notifications to let you know who’s calling, you can stay in touch while keeping your hands on the wheel and eyes on the road.” The visor mount is compatible with almost all BlackBerry devices, from the 7130 series on up to the Storm 9530, according to RIM, so it’s available to most BlackBerry users.
