Truviso claims to be able to analyze up to 500,000 data records per second Cisco announced Thursday that it plans to acquire network analytics company Truviso for an undisclosed amount, in an effort to help users hone operational efficiencies.Truviso, a California-based, real-time Web analytics software company, will add the capability to analyze streaming data to the Cisco Prime network management platform, the company said in a statement. Cisco plans to close the deal in the fourth quarter of its fiscal year 2012, ending in July.Cisco plans to integrate the Truviso team into the Cisco Network Management Technology Group. Truviso claims to be able to analyze up to 500,000 data records per second.Cisco Prime collects network statistics to allow IT departments to get a complete picture of network traffic. Truviso analyzes network traffic in real-time, allowing users to get an instant view of network use, one of the most important capabilities of the companies software, Cisco said. Enterprise customers and service providers want a better understanding of the “exponentially increasing” amount of network data to improve operations and service and provide real-time business intelligence, according to Cisco.Truviso was founded in 2005 and aims to eliminate the need to batch, store, organize and retrieve data before analyzing, according to the company. The technology is used by ad networks, enterprise software vendors and e-commerce websites, among other users. Truviso also offers custom-branded analytics dashboards.
