Amazon.com SVP and CIO Rick Dalzell plans to retire from the e-commerce company by the end of this year. The Internet retailer quietly submitted a form 8-K to the United States Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) revealing Dalzell’s plans just before the start of the Labor Day weekend, on Friday, August 31. According to the SEC filing, Dalzell informed his employer of his retirement on August 27. Dalzell has served as Amazon’s CIO since he joined the company in 1997 from Wal-Mart.
