FreedomPay hired Sam Bellamy as its new COO. Bellamy joined the Wayne, Pa.-based provider of cashless payment solutions for the food service industry from Ingenico, a provider of electronic payment solutions. At Ingenico, which is based in France, Bellamy served as CIO, vice president of operations and information technology, and as vice president of product and technology. He joined Ingenico when it acquired his previous employer, International Verifact (IVI), where he worked as its vice president of operations and IT at its Checkmate division. The Iceland-based financial services group Glitnir appointed Gisli Heimisson EVP of shared services and CIO. For the past two and a half years, Heimisson has played a key role in developing the company’s IT platform. He joined Glitnir in January 2005 as an executive director in the IT department. 10 months later he was promoted to managing director, and in March 2007 was named CIO. Prior to Glitnir, Heimisson co-founded a software company, Metis hf., and served as CEO since its inception in 1999. For more information on Heimisson, check out the press release Glitnir issued.
