Joe Farrelly
Joseph Farrelly has taken what may be his final CIO post.  The 61-year-old former CIO of Nabisco, Seagrams, Vivendi Universal and Aventis Pharmaceuticals joined Interpublic Group as the ad agency holding company’s CIO.   He replaces outgoing CIO John Cirone and reports to Interpublic’s CFO, Frank Mergenthaler.  I find it strange that a CIO with Farrelly’s experience would report to a CFO, but he may be reporting to Mergenthaler because one of his responsibilities is to improve Interpublic’s financial reporting system.

Steve Van Wyk has left his post as CIO and COO of Morgan Stanley for the CIO job at ING U.S. Financial Services.  Van Wyk worked for Morgan Stanley for 10 years.

Gertrude Van Horn was appointed SVP and CIO of Haggar Clothing Co. She reports to Haggar’s President and CEO, Jim Lewis.  She most recently held a short tenure as Jo-Ann Stores’ SVP and CIO having joined the crafts retailer in February 2005.  Prior to Jo-Ann Stores, Van Horn worked for Office Depot as its VP of Global Information Delivery Systems.  She’s also worked for Limited Brands and American Express.
