Campbell Soup SVP and CIO Doreen Wright was nominated for a seat on Conseco‘s board of directors. The Carmel, Ind.-based insurance company will elect new board members and re-elect existing ones at its annual shareholders meeting on May 22, 2007. Go, Do!

Doreen Wright
This will be Wright’s second experience on a corporate board; she previously served on Yankee Candle‘s board of directors. Wright (at left), 50, has held her current post with Campbell Soup since 2001. For more on Wright’s experience, see the press release from Conseco. I’m going to try to get an interview with Wright to ask her how this opportunity with Conseco came about.

WagerPhone, which makes software that lets consumers use their mobile phones for gambling, hired Dino Angaritis as its new CIO. Angaritis has been serving WagerPhone as a consultant since last summer. According to the press release announcing his hire, the company was so impressed with his work–and his “extensive network of contacts in the telecom and media sectors”–that it hired Angaritis on full time.

“After receiving nearly a year of positive feedback on Dino’s work from our clients and technology partners, this move was crystal clear. Dino has been vital in the shaping of our company,” said WagerPhone President Marc Askenasi in the press release. “Dino brings with him both the experience and innovative flair that we are looking for to assist in driving our company forward.”
