Insurance holding company NYMagic hired Craig Lowenthal as its new SVP and CIO. Lowenthal joined the company on April 2, 2007.  A 19-year veteran of the insurance industry, Lowenthal most recently worked for Integro Insurance Brokers as its managing principal and CIO. Prior to Integro, he played a key role in reestablishing  Hartford Financial Products‘ business after its offices in the World Trade Center were destroyed on September 11 as the company’s VP and CIO.  Lowenthal, who is also a CPA, previously spent 10 years with Reliance National Insurance Company and worked for Credit Suisse First Boston and Deloitte & Touche.

Oregon’s Department of Administrative Services appointed Dugan Petty as the department’s new CIO.  Petty has been serving as the state’s acting CIO since the previous CIO, Michael Zanon, left to join the state police department, in September 2006. Petty previously served as the State Services Division’s deputy administrator. In that position he was responsible for risk management, procurement, surplus services and the state fleet.
