Kevin L. Myers (at left) is working for steel manufacturer Severstal North America Inc. as its CIO and member of the senior leadership team. He’s been there since August 2006. Prior to joining Severstal, he served as director if information technology solutions delivery at American Axle & Manufacturing Inc., a global automotive supplier of driveline systems and metal formed products based in Detroit.

Public CIO reports that Louis Gutierrez has turned up at Exeter Group, an IT consulting firm based in Cambridge, Mass. The former CIO for the state of Massachusetts is working there as a principal. He left his post as Massachusetts’ CIO in October 2006.

The Washington Business Journal reported that Renny DiPentima is retiring as CEO of SRA International on April 1, 2007. DiPentima joined the Fairfax, Va.-based technology services company 12 years ago as its CIO.

Ann Speyer was named CIO of the Smithsonian. She had been serving as the Smithsonian’s acting CIO since the retirement of previous CIO Dennis Shaw last September. She assumed her official role on February 18. Speyer joined the Smithsonian in August 2005 as its CIO. She played an instrumental role in bringing free public wireless Internet access to several museums and gardens on the National Mall and more than doubling the enterprise storage capacity required for digital assets that preserve and provide access to Smithsonian collections. Prior to joining the Smithsonian, Speyer was the director of business technology optimization for the Program Support Center at the Department of Health and Human Services in Rockville, Md.

The Daily Record of St. Louis, Mo. reports that design/build construction firm Clayco hired Jim Meier as its CIO. Meier comes to the company from Barry-Wehmiller Design Group where he served as partner and CTO.

Shelly Peet
Shelly Peet (at left), CIO of Nordson Corp., was made a vice president of the industrial products manufacturer. In her new position, she assumes responsibility for corporate communications and community relations in addition to global IT and she becomes a member of the executive leadership team. Peet continues to report to Peter Hellman, president and chief financial and administrative officer. She joined Nordson as CIO in September 2003 from TRW.
