iTMethods Hires former Virgin Mobile and RIM CIO as COO

iTMethods hired the former CIO of Virgin Mobile Canada as its COO. Valdis Martinsons joined the Toronto-based infrastructure services provider yesterday. As iTMethods’ COO, Martinsons is responsible for technology operations and customer services. Prior to working for Virgin Mobile Canada, Martinsons was Research in Motion’s CIO.

Peter Bal started a new job with Wabco on January 3, 2007. Hired as the producer of vehicle control systems’ VP and CIO, Bal is based in Brussels, Belgium and reports to Wabco President Jacques Esculier and to American Standard SVP and CFO Peter D’Aloia. (Wabco is an American Standard company.) Bal most recently worked for the Society for Worldwide Interbank Financial Telecommunication (Swift) where he was responsible for delivering technology solutions to internal users and external customers. Prior to Swift, Bal worked for Belgacom for nine years and for Alcatel in a variety of IT positions.

Performance Food Group promoted Peter Giuffrida to the CIO post earlier this month. He had been serving as the Richmond, Va.-based company’s vice president of information systems since 2001.
