Avaya Lures Away Visteon’s CIO

Avaya hired Lorie Buckingham away from Visteon. Buckingham joined the communications network designer yesterday as its SVP and CIO. She worked for Visteon for five years, most recently as its CIO and SVP of its global services group. Prior to Visteon, Buckingham served as ZoneTrader.com’s CIO and worked for Union Carbide as senior director of enterprise information technology solutions.

Stanley Pachura was promoted to SVP of corporate systems, infrastructure and operations at PMI Mortgage Insurance Co. today. According to the press release announcing his promotion, Pachura’s new responsibilities include overseeing corporate systems and network infrastructure and purchasing corporate software packages. Under his direction, PMI will consolidate and standardize systems operations across multiple business units. His promotion recognizes the technology implementations he has led, which have reduced costs and improved customer service, according to the press release.

Insurance Auto Auctions Inc.’s (IAAI) CIO John Nordin will retain his position after his company merges with auto auctioneer Adesa. Nordin joined IAAI in late 2003 from A.M. Castle & Co. Nordin appeared in a March 2003 CIO article on chargeback.
