Build-A-Bear Workshop promoted its managing director of information technology, Dave Finnegan, to CIO. Finnegan joined the company in December 1999 as its director of IT. He was named managing director in March 2005. Finnegan’s promotion was one of four management changes the St. Louis, Mo.-based company announced last Friday.

WellCare seems to have pulled the rug out from under its SVP of IT David Erickson.  Erickson had been the highest ranking IT executive at the Tampa, Fla.-based health insurer, but last week, according to the Tampa Bay Business Journal, WellCare hired a new SVP and CIO, Anil Kottoor.  Erickson now reports to Kottoor. We’ll see how long Erickson sticks around WellCare now that his no longer the first in command.  According to his bio on WellCare’s web site, Erickson joined the company as SVP in February 2005 from Molina Healthcare, where he had served as its CIO. Kottoor most recently worked for WellPoint as its vice president and chief application development officer.

Looks like William Halnon may need some of the outplacement services his company Spherion provides. The Fort Lauderdale, Fla.-based staffing and recruiting company announced yesterday that  William Halnon is leaving “to pursue other opportunities.” Joel Steigelfest, Spherion’s vice president of IT services, was named interim CIO.
