New CEO Roles for Capellas and Webb

It just dawned on me that this is going to be the last Movers & Shakers entry for 2006. I’m going on vacation tomorrow, and alas, I won’t be updating Movers & Shakers between reading The Hours, watching day-time TV and baking cookies. Rest assured that Movers & Shakers will be updated after the new year.

I don’t have many announcements to share today, but I’m happy to end the year with a posts about two CIOs turned CEO.

Michael Capellas was named acting CEO of Serena Software, which was acquired by Silver Lake Partners, the private equity firm where Capellas is an advisor, last March.

Just four months after retiring from eBay where he served as COO (and in the early days, as its CIO), Maynard Webb has joined a new startup. LiveOps, a provider of a hosted call center platform, hired Webb as its CEO.
