Duke Energy Spinoff Elects Austin Adams to Board

Austin Adams has made his next move after retiring from J.P. Morgan Chase in October. The former CIO was elected to the board of directors of Spectra Energy, a Duke Energy spinoff.

Verizon Telecom CIO Shaygan Kheradpir was named EVP and CIO of Verizon Communications. In his new role, which takes effect January first of the new year, Kheradpir will be responsible for IT initiatives across all of Verizon’s business units and or establishing the strategic direction, policies and standards for IT in Verizon’s network-based business units and at Verizon Services Operations.  He reports to Denny Strigl, who was promoted from president of Verizon Wireless to president and COO of Verizon Communications.

Enzo Micali, the former CIO of 1-800-Flowers.com, starts a new job with research and analysis company TNS as CIO of its North America Custom Research business in early 2007. A member of the senior leadership team, Micali will be responsible for setting the IT direction for the custom research business and for building a technology services platform.    

GTSI promoted Denise Harrison to vice president of IT applications and information resources. She is responsible for implementing and managing the applications that support the IT solutions provider’s business. She reports to SVP and CIO Bob Mitchell.
