Moody’s Taps New CIO from AIG

Perry Rotella was in the mood for a change. He left American International Group (AIG) to join Moody’s as its new SVP and CIO, the credit ratings provider announced yesterday. Rotella held several executive level IT positions during his seven-year tenure with AIG, including CTO and CIO of its domestic brokerage group. Prior to AIG, he clocked 15 years with American Management Systems.

Helix Energy Solutions named its VP of IT an officer of the company yesterday. Troy Matherne  joined the Houston, Texas-based energy services company in October 2006 from Dresser where he most recently served as VP and CIO. Previously, Matherne led the strategic marketing function for one of Halliburton’s business units.  His past experience includes stints as a controller and in operations and procurement.

Dell hired a one-time PepsiCo CIO to serve as its new SVP of global services. Steve Schuckenbrock joins the Round Rock, Texas-based computer company on January 8, 2007, most recently from EDS. In his new role, Schuckenbrock will report to Dell CEO Kevin Rollins, who commented in the press release announcing the new hire that Schuckenbrock’s experience as a buyer of IT products and as a leader of an IT services company was a winning combination. At EDS, Schuckenbrock served as co-COO and EVP of global sales and services. Prior to EDS, Schuckenbrock was COO of The Feld Group, and before that, he was PepsiCo’s global CIO from 1998 to 2000.
