Kudos to Christopher Barron.  He was promoted from vice president of information and communication services to vice president and CIO of CPS Energy. Barron says the CIO post is a new one for the $2 billion natural gas and electric company. It was recently created so that IT would be managed at a more strategic level, he says.  To that end, Barron reports to CPS Energy’s CEO Milton Lee.

More congratulations go to two long-time IT employees of the Barry-Wehmiller Companies.  Craig Hergenroether, CIO of the packaging manufacturer and services provider, promoted two employees inside his IT organization.  Mike Kelly was named director of application development, and Robert Richards was bumped up to director of corporate network technologies. The promotions are the positive result of a restructuring of the St. Louis, Mo.-based company’s IT department.  For more information about Kelly’s and Richards’ new roles, and to see photos of the two men, check out the press release
