Pike Electric and Federal Signal Appoint New CIOs

Pike Electric Corp. charged Mark Thomson with juicing up the outsourced electric distribution and transmission company’s information systems.  Pike Electric hired Thomson as its new CIO yesterday.  He most recently workedfor the Hett Group as a consultant and previously served as CIO of Indian Motorcycle Corp., Integris Metals and DJJ Corp.

Federal Signal Corp. hired a Microsoft employee as its new VP and CIO. Michael Wons joined the safety and security products manufacturer last week.  Wons, 42, most recently served as the lead technology strategist responsible for defining next generation technology platforms for global financial services companies. 

Norfolk Southern’s new VP of strategic planning, Daniel Mazur, reports to the railroad’s VP of planning and CIO, Kathryn McQuade. Mazur was appointed to this post last week.
