Don Lyons appointed VP of IT operations at Emerging Health IT

Healthcare IT consultancy Emerging Health Information Technology tapped Don Lyons as its vice president of operations. In this position, Lyons will be in charge of IT operations including application development, infrastructure and support.  Lyons joins the Yonkers, NY-based firm from Life Biosystems AG, a maker of an IT platform that supports cancer research, where he served as president and CEO. He founded Life Biosystems while serving as deputy CIO of MD Anderson Cancer Center at the University of Texas.  Previously, he was CTO of healthcare investment firm Equity Partners and CIO of Valley Medical Center in Washington. Lyons began his career as a medical technologist and clinical microbiologist.  

Real estate developer Paramount Worldwide hired Ben Knight as its information technology director.  He will manage IT for all of Paramount’s luxury developments in Florida and will be responsible for the company’s internet marketing program and web sites.

Patrick McGuire was named president of Surrex Solutions’ project management division, Surrex Project Management.  McGuire most recently served as Surrex Project Management’s chief project officer. He has served as an advisor to Surrex Solutions since 2001.  He previously held CIO and CTO positions.
