The East Bay Business Times reported on Tuesday that Cliff Dodd had resigned unexpectedly from his post as SVP and CIO of Kaiser Permanente.  The paper noted that Dodd’s departure came just as the company was addressing an e-mail that an internal employee sent to virtually everyone in the company alleging that Kaiser’s IT spending could cause the company to lose as much as $7 billion. News of Dodd’s resignation is generating a lot of chatter on the blog, HIStalk, which obtained and posted Kaiser CEO George Halvorson’s memo announcing Dodd’s resignation and his rebuttal to the controversial e-mail.
