Real estate transaction services provider LandAmerica Financial Group announced three promotions in its IT department on November 1. Richard Gonzalez was promoted from SVP and CIO to EVP and CIO. He joined the company in 2005 from Credit Suisse First Boston, where he served as a senior IT consultant.  Leonard Anderson moved up from vice president and director of IT development to senior vice president and director of technology resources.  In his new position he oversees the deployment of emerging technologies in the company. Anderson joined LandAmerica in 1996.  Robert Kuntz was named senior vice president and director of infrastructure. He also serves on committees responsible for coordinating technology integration for major acquisitions, Sarbanes-Oxley compliance with a focus on IT controls and technology standards. He joined LandAmerica in 1997. For more information on these men, check out the press release announcing their promotions.

At CPG International, Andreas Ludwig will take on the VP and CIO post on January 1, 2007. Ludwig, 35, currently serves as director of special projects for the Scranton, Pa.-based manufacturer. He joined the company in April 2006 as manager of internal audit from Lordi Consulting

Jonathan Lindsell joined hedge fund D.B. Zwirn & Co. as its CIO.  Previously, he worked for Dresdner Kleinwort as CIO of its Americas and Asia Pacific regions.  Executive Search firm Harvey Nash made the placement.

Federal Computer Week (FCW) reported earlier in the week at W. Hord Tipton is stepping down as CIO of the Department of the Interior “after 2006.”  Tipton has not had it easy during his tenure at Interior Department (read the FCW story for details.) He told the publication that his immediate plan after leaving his current post was to give his six-year-old granddaughter a violin listen.  I think that is so sweet.
