Plus: Healthcare software provider hires former Fidelity and State Street CIO as new COO

Yesterday, Computer Associates (CA) promoted David Hansen to the SVP and CIO post, which CA’s previous CIO, Kevin Kern, vacated in August. (Kern has since joined Unisys as its CIO.) Hansen reports to Chief Administrative Officer Jim Bryant.  He has worked for CA since 2002. A year later, he was named senior vice president of CA Technology Services for North America. In 2005, Hansen was appointed senior vice president for worldwide presales where he was responsible for a team of 1,400 employees, enhanced customer relationships, and created technology teams focused on security, storage and infrastructure management.

Raj Datt started a new job with Kennametal yesterday as the supplier of tooling systems and engineering services’ vice president and CIO. Most recently, Datt worked for Panasonic Automotive Systems Company of America, where he held the same title. Datt told me in an e-mail that he left Panasonic, where he had earned a promotion to his most recent position in October 2005, to take on “a more challenging assignment with greater global presence” that provided for “both personal and professional growth.” Datt previously worked for GE Transportation Systems, GE Power Systems and Boeing in IT management roles.

Athenahealth hired a former Fidelity CIO as its new COO. James MacDonald joined the provider of software for medical practices from Fidelity’s Human Resources Services Company, where he was president. Before his presidential post, MacDonald was as CIO of Fidelity’s Management & Research Company and Fidelity’s Employer Services Company.  He also previously served as one of State Street Corporation’s CIOs.
