CIO Announcements from Lucent, Erie Insurance and Avanade

Elizabeth Hackenson
Elizabeth Hackenson (at left), who was named CIO of Lucent Technologies in April, will remain in her post once her company merges with French communications solutions provider Alcatel.  The two companies announced today that Hackenson will lead the combined company’s IT organization.  She will continue to report to Frank D’Amelio, who currently serves as Lucent’s COO.

Jeffrey Stempora
Jeffrey D. Stempora (at right) will begin a new job with Erie Insurance Group as its senior vice president, division officer and CIO on August 21, 2006.  Stempora most recently worked for Citigroup, where he held a variety of roles including EVP, chief strategist, CIO and global head of strategy and strategic initiatives for technology infrastructure.  He has also worked for State Farm Insurance and CNA Financial Services.

Windows technology integrator Avanade hired 14-year Microsoft veteran Dale Christian as its CIO.  During his tenure with Microsoft, Christian led the development of software used by Microsoft employees in various departments including IT, operations, procurement and finance.
