Last Monday, Peter Logothetis took on his first official CIO position with insurance company Winterthur U.S. Holdings. He’s overseeing a 250-person IT department. No stranger to the insurance industry, Logothetis has worked for Liberty Mutual, Kemper Insurance and CNA Insurance. Prior to joining Winterthur U.S. Holdings, he was an IT VP at Liberty Mutual for three years in its Indianapolis location. Crain’s Cleveland Business reports that FedEx Custom Critical promoted Chris O’Neil to CIO. O’Neil most recently served as the Green, Ohio-based company’s managing director of IT, a position he’s held since he joined the company in 2000. And from the Sioux City Journal Ones to Watch honoree Ajay Waghray (pictured at left) was named VP and CIO of Verizon Wireless’s 15-state Midwest region. Waghray most recently served as the wireless company’s VP of Enterprise Systems. He has worked for Verizon Wireless since it was founded in 2000, having joined from Bell Atlantic Mobile. Waghray succeeds Geoffrey Knoerzer, who is retiring as CIO of the Midwestern region and from 28 years in the telecom industry.
