Yesterday, the Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation (DTCC) elected its former CIO, Donald F. Donahue (pictured at left), president and CEO.  Donohue, who currently serves as the DTCC’s COO, assumes his new post on August 1. Donohue has worked for the DTCC for 20 years.  He’s been COO since May 2003, and was CIO from 1997 to 2000.  The DTCC also promoted its current CIO, William Aimetti (pictured at right), to COO.

Timothy Wood joined investment bank and brokerage firm Friedman, Billings, Ramsey Group as its new CIO. He comes to the Arlington, Va.-based company from CIBC World Markets, where he most recently served as its executive director and head of distribution and research technology.  Prior to CIBC, Wood held leadership positions with UBS Investment Bank.

In case you haven’t already heard, a week ago, Scott Charbo, the CIO of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS), was appointed acting under secretary for management.  Charbo replaces Janet Hale, who resigned as the DHS’s under secretary for management in March. Charbo will continue to serve as CIO.

Texas Governor Rick Perry appointed Christus Health’s SVP of information management, George Conklin, to the Gulf Coast Health Information Technology Task Force.  The task force is working to revitalize the health care delivery system and make sure it can respond to disasters like hurricanes.

I’m on vacation next week and won’t be updating this blog until I return on Tuesday, June 13.
