Federal Computer Week (FCW) and Government Computer News both reported several CIO announcements over the past week…

Christine Liu joined the Small Business Administration (SBA) last week as its new CIO.  She most recently served as the State Department’s deputy CIO.  In her new role, she replaces Charles McClam, the SBA’s deputy CIO who had been serving as its acting CIO since August 2005.

Tarrazia Martin left her post as CIO of the Citizenship and Immigration Services division of the Department of Homeland Security on Monday to join Dale Meyerrose at the Office of the Director of National Intelligence. She and Meyerrose will be working to implement the technology that will facilitate information sharing among the intelligence community, according to FCW.

Robert Howard was tapped to supervise the Department of Veterans Affairs’ Office of Information and Technology.  According to GCN, Howard will serve in this position until an acting CIO and acting assistant secretary for the office are chosen. Howard stands in for Robert McFarland, who resigned from the CIO post at the VA last month.
