Plus: Akamai Hires White House Communications Agency’s CIO, and More
Just four days after Lucent went public with its plans to merge with Alcatel , the Murray Hill, N.J.-based networking technology provider announced that it had hired a new CIO. MCI veteran Elizabeth Hackenson will join Lucent on April 10, reporting to the company’s COO, Frank D’Amelio. Hackenson is replacing Lucent’s previous CIO, Ruth Bruch, who left the company earlier this year to join Kellogg. Hopefully Hackenson will still have her job once the merger with Alcatel is complete.
Akamai (remember them, from the days of the Internet boom?) hired the White House Communications Agency’s CIO as its public sector team’s new director of operations and delivery. Fran Trentley most recently led efforts to modernize communications technologies in support of the President’s travel missions.
Finally, Louis Penny wrote to me earlier this week to let me know that he began working for Heinens, a high-end, regional grocery store chain based in Ohio, as its director of IT. He spent the past year as an IT leadership consultant with the firm TechEdge.
