Paul Donovan, the former CIO of ING Americas, was appointed to Syntel’s board of directors.

UTStarcom lured Ari Bose from his position as 3Com’s VP and CIO. Bose is now the Alameda, Calif.-based telecom solutions provider’s VP and CIO. It’s not surprising why UTStarcom wanted Bose: He reportedly saved 3Com $51 million in annual operating costs by reengineering business processes and systems.

(pictured at left), SVP and CIO of Pacific Contintental Bank, was rewarded for her work integrating Northwest Business Bank’s systems with Pacific Continentals with a promotion.  She’s now EVP and CIO.  She still reports to Pacific Continental’s EVP and CFO Mick Reynolds (pictured at right).  Haxby has worked for the Pacific Continental since 1977 when she joined the Eugene, Ore.-based company as an assistant operations officer.

Farid Nagji was promoted from SVP and CIO to a new position as EVP of administration and corporate services at HCC Insurance Holdings.  Nagji, 41, was recognized for “his ability to recognize issues, then deal with them quickly and intelligently,” according to HCC CEO Stephen Way.  The three-year veteran of the Houston-based company is now responsible for HR, administration, enterprise risk management and corporate governance in addition to IT.
