Fireman’s Fund hired a new CIO to replace Fred Matteson, who left the insurance company mid-January. Oliver Bussman, the new CIO, joins from Allianz Group, of which Fireman’s Fund is a wholly owned subsidiary, where he was EVP of IT for Allianz Germany. Bussman starts his new job with Fireman’s Fund on April 3. Last week, Gary Cantrell (pictured at left) started a new job as VP and CIO of manufacturer Textron. He takes over responsibility for IT from EVP Kenneth Bohlen, to whom he reports. Cantrell most recently worked for Bank of America as its SVP of enterprise access and technology services. Earlier, he was groomed at Honeywell, where spent 15 years. Chris Trauzzi joins the law firm of Day, Berry & Howard as its first CIO. The firm has big plans for growth and hired a CIO to help it achieve its goals. Trauzzi has his work cut out for him: In addition to managing Day, Berry & Howard’s growing infrastructure, he’s responsible for developing and implementing new systems to enhance communication between attorneys, voice over IP, a workflow system and a knowledge management portal. BancIntelligence promoted Curry Pelot to the CIO post. Pelot has worked for the provider of web-based planning tools for financial institutions since its founding in 2000. Prior to BancIntelligence, Pelot was SVP at US Banking Alliance. So many CIO announcements, so little time to blog them all.
