Three other CIO announcements hit the wires last week before Thanksgiving.  Among them…

Petco elected Safeway’s SVP and CIO David Ching to its board of directors.  Ching, 52, has been with Safeway since 1994.  Prior to that, he was general manager of British American Consulting Group’s North American region.

Foodservice company Sysco appointed its SVP and CIO Kirk Drummond SVP and treasurer.  He moves into his new post on December 1.  Drummond was named SVP and CIO in January of this year after serving as VP and CIO since 2000.   He is no stranger to the world of high finance: He joined Sysco1986 as controller of its subsidiary in Grand Rapids, Michigan, was transferred to Sysco’s operation in Atlanta as CFO and controller in 1989, and three years later he took on the title of VP of finance.  Succeeding Drummond as vice president and CIO is Twila Day (pictured at right).  She has served as VP of IT since July and has been with Sysco since 1992, when she joined the company as a senior programmer analyst.
