A friendly reader pointed out that I missed John Polizzi’s departure from Blockbuster last month. Polizzi had been the video and DVD rental chain’s SVP and CIO and had helped the company move into the online DVD and video game rental business to compete with Netflix. Polizzi has since landed at BJ’s Wholesale Club in Natick, Mass. as its SVP and CIO. He reports to Frank Forward, BJ’s chief administrative officer, and he succeeds Roland LaFerriere, who’s retiring from BJ’s in December after a three decade career.
