Last week, Verizon Wireless named John Hinshaw (pictured above) vice president and CIO. Hinshaw succeeds Roger Gurani, who was promoted to president of Verizon Wireless’s West Area business operations. Hinshaw, who now oversees a department with 2,100 employees, has been a member of Verizon Wireless’s executive team and IT organization since the company was founded in 2000. He reports to Denny Strigl, president and CEO of Verizon Wireless.
In a press release, Henshaw’s boss spoke of the new CIO’s accomplishments: “John has been a key player in the formation of the Verizon Wireless IT organization since we launched the business five years ago and has helped build an information systems infrastructure that is market-driven and focused on delivering a superior customer experience.”
