It is critical these days that CIO’s …

  • not just know the strategic business goals,
  • not just be expert technologists, but 
  • be very good listeners,
  • be excellent communicators, in English/Spanish/French or a language of your choice, and not techno-English/Spanish/French etc,
  • be focused on knowing the business and its operational processes,  
  • be willing to work closely with the business to better understand the needs,
  • provide both cost-effective and revenue-enhancing solutions that meet business needs,
  • have strong quality assurance practices in place,
  • have strong portfolio management practices in place, and last but not least
  • be fiscally prudent leaders.
