Yesterday I did an interview with Federal News Radio (WFED 1050 AM, Washington, D.C.) about my story, How to Ask for a Raise During a Recession. Francis Rose, host of Federal News Radio’s afternoon program In Depth, wanted to know whether employees would do themselves a disservice by asking their employers for raises during these trying economic times.

I spoke with Frances about the circumstances in which an employee may be justified in asking for more money and the circumstances in which requesting a raise would be wholly inappropriate. I also gave his listeneners tips on how to ask for a raise and how to determine one’s “market value.” If you’re curious about what I sound like and what I had to say, please listen to the program (scroll down to where the page says “Gimme More Money“) and let me know what you think!
