If your New Year’s resolution has anything to do with building an expertise around mobile devices—particularly yours—you’re in luck. Thanks to the good folks over at the Google Mobile Blog, you can even get started early; for the entire month of December, you’ll find a new Google-related mobile tip or trick listed on the blog each day.
Countdown to 2009 with Google Mobile Tips started on the first of December, and as such, there are already three tips available, including information on how to employ your handset to help with comparison shopping; how to better use the new Google Mobile App with Voice for iPhone; and tips on checking sports scores, schedules, news and information on the go.

The Google Mobile Blog is accessible via desktop browser or mobile device, and specific tips can be sent directly to handsets by entering in the appropriate mobile digits on the Google Mobile Tips microsite. An SMS test message is then sent with a link to the tip.
However, I haven’t been able to access the microsite via BlackBerry—the page just says “Loading Mobile Tip of the Day” and freezes when I navigate to it using the BlackBerry browser. Nor can I click the link in an SMS text message and view the tips; I just get “Page Cannot be Found” errors. (I also tried using my iPhone’s Safari browser, and that worked fine.)
So if you’ve got access to a desktop browser or you’re an iPhone user, you shouldn’t come across any issues—at least I haven’t.
You can also watch video clips and add your own mobile tips to Google’s Mobile Tricks channel on YouTube.
And remember: A new tip is added each day, so if you like what you see, don’t forget to check back often.
