James Olsen was named SVP and CIO of Foundation Coal Holdings yesterday. He most recently served as the coal producer’s senior vice president of development and information technology, a position he had held since 1999. Olsen has 32 years of experience in the mining industry.

Daniel Galdenzi started a new job as SVP and CIO of CareGuide on December 31. He reports to Thomas Tran, president and CFO of the health management company. Galdenzi most recently worked for Metropolitan Life where, as assistant vice president of information technology, he was responsible for application development for MetLife’s annuity business. Prior to MetLife, he spent seven years at ConnectiCare, a regional health plan based in Connecticut. AsConnectiCare’s director of e-business and application development, he was responsible for IT strategy, web portals, EDI and voice response, customer service and claims systems. Previously, he was an IT project manager with Oxford Health Plans.

Heinz North America hired Liam Durbin as its new CIO. Durbin previously worked for various GE businesses as CIO.
