Scott Berinato, my colleague at CIO.com‘s sister website CSOonline.com, has ranked the worst data breaches of 2007, from an alleged phishing scheme targeting Monster.com, to the consumer credit card data fiasco at TJX.

Find the list here to read which company gets 5 out of 5 on the “D’Oh!” scale and which cases he thinks are most likely to attract the attention of class-action attorneys.

As Scott writes: “Some breaches on our list are serious. Some are funny. And some are just plain sad. But all of them were probably preventable. Alas.”
