Plus: New CIO at Liquidity Services

Retailer QVC announced changes to its IT leadership on October 17. The West Chester, Pa.-based company hired John Sullivan as its new EVP and chief information officer. Rob Cochran, who previously held the CIO role at QVC, moved into a new position as chief IT technical officer. In this new role, Cochran will oversee the removal of legacy systems and introduction and development of new mobile technologies and applications. Cochran has worked for QVC since 1987.

Sullivan most recently worked for Liz Claiborne as SVP of sourcing, service, systems and chief information officer. He began his 11-year career with the apparel designer as its vice president of information systems and customer service. Prior to Liz, Sullivan worked for Goody’s Family Clothing, Ames Department Stores, Johnson & Associates and Knapp Shoes in IT leadership positions.

Eric Dean joined Liquidity Services‘ executive management team as its CIO. He succeeds Benjamin Brown, who is starting a sabbatical on January 1, 2008. Liquidity Services is looking to Dean, 54, to identify ways to make the company more efficient as it grows. Dean’s long list of credential include having served as SVP and CIO for Schaller Anderson, CIO of Andersen Worldwide, and CIO of UAL (United Airlines). He is a founding chairman of the Liberty Alliance and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in math from Indiana University.
