Check out RIM's video walkthrough of the new BlackBerry Mobile Voice System (MVS) 5 with VoWi-Fi calling. BlackBerry-maker Research In Motion (RIM) unveiled BlackBerry Mobile Voice System (MVS) 5, with new VoWi-Fi calling, late last month at its annual Wireless Enterprise Symposium (WES). RIM’s BlackBerry Mobile Voice System (MVS) Diagram MVS is an enterprise system that connects with RIM’s BlackBerry Enterprise Server (BES) to let corporate users securely employ their BlackBerrys to answer calls placed to their organizations’ desk-phones and smartphones, as well as make calls via BlackBerry that appear to originate from those desk-phones, among other things. You can read all the details about MVS 5 here, as well as why the new MVS 5 offering is different than the VoWi-Fi MVS features already available via U.S. carrier T-Mobile. (MVS 5 won’t be available until later this year.) And RIM just posted the following video walkthrough to help explain just how MVS works and why your company may be interested in the product. I think MVS is packed with potential, and I’ve been saying so for years now, since the initial version of MVS was unveiled. The addition of VoWi-Fi features could speed up what has to this point been relatively slow enterprise uptake. Visit RIM’s MVS page for even more specifics.
