BlackBerry User Attending RIM’s WES 2010? Don’t Miss This Party

BlackBerry-maker Research In Motion (RIM) is holding its ninth annual Wireless Enterprise Symposium (WES) next week in Orlando, Fla., and though the conference is mostly centered around “business”—BlackBerry-focused tracks, demos from RIM staffers, peer-networking, etc.—there will be plenty of fun to be had after hours, as well.

Specifically, BoxTone, a maker of BlackBerry-monitoring software and WES Gold Sponsor, will expand on the concept of its BoxTone Lounge, a popular attraction at WES the past couple of years, and the company plans to hold its own pool-side party, dubbed “BoxTone After Dark,” the Monday night before WES (April 26). WES takes place at the Marriot World Center Orlando from April 27 through April 29.

“BoxTone After Dark” will be beside the pool at the Marriott from 8 PM to 10 PM EST on Monday. You must register at BoxTone.com/AfterDark to attend. And a handful of lucky attendees who use the code “MobileWorkHorse1” during registration will be selected for VIP Passes, which get you in early, a goodie-bag and few extra “surprises,” according to BoxTone. And the event will no doubt be one of the biggest get-togethers at WES, behind RIM’s official fete on Tuesday night.

From BoxTone’s marketing chief Brian C. Reed:

“We have cool music, games, girls, and a pile of surprises. The DJ rig is a real Hummer all decked out with major AV, sound, turntables and everything. It’s the ultimate music machine on wheels. Everyone loved The Lounge, always wished we had drinks in it… well now we do and more.”

I sat on a BoxTone panel at WES 2009 last year (check out the video here), and I’ll also be at this year’s After Dark party.
